Interview with Shen Hui: Advanced production capacity such as BC batteries has great potential

    Recently, a reporter from the Daily Economic News interviewed Professor Shen Hui from Sun Yat sen University.

    In Shen Hui's opinion, BC batteries are the most perfect optically, but relatively more challenging.

    In the current era of rapid technological iteration in the photovoltaic industry, the debate over technological routes will become the biggest highlight of the future direction of photovoltaics. At present, heterojunction, TOPCon, and BC battery are the mainstream directions.

        BC battery advantages

        China has made significant progress in technological innovation and successfully solved some key problems in the

manufacturing process of BC batteries through various technological means.

    01. BC batteries are the most perfect optically

    Shen Hui first explained the advantages of BC batteries from an optical perspective. He stated that BC cells are photovoltaic

cells with electrodes prepared on the back, which can absorb light to the maximum extent and achieve perfect optical

performance. In contrast, TOPCon technology is relatively simple and can be achieved by making some simple improvements on

the basis of PERC cells.

    02. Do not create a unified product              In Shen Hui's opinion, China needs everyone not to make a unified product, but to have differentiation. Aixu Co., Ltd. is a

application of BC modules in the BIPV and other distributed markets has aesthetic advantages. Because there are no electrodes

on the front, architects will also like it.

The biggest problem in the industry at present is overcapacity, not a decrease in production volume. And overcapacity is also structural, with N-type replacing P-type and advanced capacity replacing outdated capacity.

technology route is correct, I personally prefer a combination of technology routes or BC to replace other technology routes

and develop to the best in the next five years or even longer     When the market always sees BC, TOPCON, and HJT as three competing routes, it often overlooks BC as a platform technology

that can be combined with other photovoltaic technologies and has stronger plasticity. At the same time, it naturally brings

more advantages by drawing on the strengths of others. It can be said that there are thousands of essence in one body.
